Body, Soul, and Spirit

God created us with a physical body that contains a soul and a spirit.  The physical is made up of a skeleton, flesh, and blood.  We have eyes to see, ears to hear, a mouth to talk, hands to touch, and feet to walk.

Our soul is the part of us where our mind, thoughts, will, desires, and emotions come from.  It gives us our unique identity.  It is associated with our earthly life.

Our spirit is in regard to a deeper connection to God.  It points to the God-conscious aspect of our core to relate and commune with God, our creator, in fellowship and worship.  To be able to have a personal relationship with Him as our Lord and Savior.  John 4:24…Worship Him in spirit and in truth.  Romans 8:16 He bears witness with our spirits that we are the children of God.

To be well in body, soul, and spirit requires daily practices.  To be physically healthy, you must get enough sleep, eat right, get some kind of exercise, and maintain some kind of cleanliness routine.

To have a healthy soul, it is important to nurture your mind and emotions.  It’s about intentional habits that support your inner well-being and connect you to what truly matters.  Surround yourself with people who uplift and encourage you.  Setting aside time each day to recognize what you have been blessed with. Choose words that are good and helpful. Avoid negativity.  Speak knowing that the power of life and death is in the tongue.  Listen to Godly music, read faith-based books, watch TV shows and movies that you wouldn’t be embarrassed by if God himself were sitting right beside you. (because He sees what we are doing) Align Your Life with Christian values. To have a healthy spirit, spend time with God daily through worship, praise, prayer, reading the Bible, journaling, and art.  Make an effort to look for God’s hand not only in your life, but also in creation.  Find and live your purpose in this world.
