Take the first step in dealing with your Soul

Grab whatever you have to write on and with.  Now write down your situation that has brought you to this website.  Then, after you’ve done that, you can write up a plan.

1.  Decide what you are battling.

2.  Take some time and write down what brought you to that battle.  (This example is from my own experience .- Depression is my battle.  How I got there was the result of Isolation and loneliness, clutter, unresolved anger, which has led to being overwhelmed and exhausted.

3.  Now prioritize what you want to work on first…(  For me,  I chose..1. Isolation, 2. feeling overwhelmed and exhausted, 3. clutter…I had to work on anger through my spirit.

4.  When you identify and work on one thing at a time, it can then change your perspective on your battle and lead to victory.  You can work on more than one aspect of your being at a time.   Only you know what is going on, and you know how much you can handle in a day.  You need to remember that change takes time.  Don’t get overwhelmed and don’t beat yourself up.  There will be days when you need to remind yourself that your worth is not in what you get done or don’t get done.  You are a child of the Most High God, and He loves you because of who you are, not what you got done.

5.  Now comes the hard part, not just coming up with a plan, but actually working the plan.

Your plan will look different than mine.  I can only give you an example to help guide you through this process.  You have to actually come up with a plan that works for you.

Start simple. This is not a race but a life plan to keep the waves from knocking you down over and over again.

Here is my outline and action plan.

1.  Get connected to people.   Action taken,  I joined the local senior center and started going to the bible study they have.  I started getting involved in the activities and bus trips.  Spending time getting to know people in my age group in the area where we now live.  I joined a small prayer group.

2.  Make sure there are no medical reasons for the exhaustion.  Action taken, went to the doctors…Working on getting more sleep.

3.  Declutter so I don’t get overwhelmed.    Action taken, looked on the internet, and researched ideas and a plan that would work for me that was simple. Stopped beating myself up when it takes me days or weeks to accomplish a task.

4.  Come up with a plan for my spirit to connect with God and deal with the anger and resentment issues I have.  (I’ll cover that in the next blog.)

Your plan doesn’t have to be perfect; you can change it around when and where needed.  It may take time to see progress, just keep going.  Trust God for the strength to have victory over your battles.

Isaiah 41:10 – “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.”

1 John 4:4 – “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you…to give you a future and hope.
